“A Vulcan ?” Commander Joel Palatio said aloud to no one in particular.
“That is correct Captain.” Kiok told him.
“Even thought you are not Romulan, your ship is clearly a Warbird. It will not be allowed here without permission.” Commander Joel Palatio looked intently at the image in the small viewscreen.
“I have permission to be here,” Kiok informed him.
“On whose authority ?” Commander Joel Palatio seemed irritated.
“Is this off the Record ?” Kiok asked.
Stirrak closed the channel for a bit. “Sir he is nervous about something.”
“How can you tell ? I don’t see anything wrong with him.” Commander Joel Palatio looked at the image of the waiting Vulcan on the screen.
“I am a Vulcan and he is one too. We can see each other’s reactions quickly. He now realizes that we are talking about him.”
Commander Joel Palatio opens the channel again. “No it is not off the Record.”
“I see. Then I can’t disclose the information.”
Commander Joel Palatio looks at his crewmembers. “I suppose it is someone high up in the Federation ?”
“You can say that.” is all that Kiok said.
“I see. Can we see your clearance ?” Commander Joel Palatio asked him.
Kiok looked over to the side and spoke to a male human for a bit. “That at least I can provide.” Kiok pointed a finger at someone and the clearance was sent over.
Stirrak quickly checked it and then looked up with the most astonished expression a Vulcan could ever make. “It is a high priority clearance sir. Straight from Starfleet command. The sender is not recognized but it is authentic.”
“Satisfied ?” Kiok asked him.
“I guess so,” Commander Joel Palatio looked over the clearance authorization. He read a long paragraph on it. “It says here that information of this kind of ship is not to be disclosed. It does not exist.”
“What does that mean sir ?” Lieutenant Wong finally spoke up.
“That we never seen this ship Mr. Wong. Is that understood ?”
“Yes sir. Very Clearly. There is nothing out there.”
“Now that that is clear. Is Commodore Hunter doing well ?” Kiok asked.
Joel looked over at Stirrak. “Commodore Hunter is no longer in command of the Serenity Colony.”
“I see. Who is in command now ?”
“Serenity is now controlled by a civilian governor.” Commander Joel Palatio replied. “Governor Adama has full authority over the colony, both civilian and Starfleet. Captain K’Tag is now the senior Starfleet officer and acting as Adama’s Starfleet liaison.”
“A civilian in authority over Starfleet personnel ? That is not how the Federation works.” Kiok did not like this, not one bit.
“I know it is highly irregular, I don’t understand this Federation policy either. But the orders come straight from the President and the Federation council.” Palatio responded. “There’s a lot that I don’t understand recently, civillian governors and secret warships flying in the darkness of space.”
Kiok raised an eyebrow and looked around, obviously aware that the last comment was directed at his own mysterious actions.
“I will contact you again Captain. In the meantime I must attend to business.” Kiok reported.
“Ok Captain Kiok,” Commander Joel Palatio closed the channel and saw how the Warbird disappeared in seconds in the darkness of space.
