A small cut on her neck where she tried to to kill herself over a man on the USS Rome after he used her for his own personal pleasures... it lets her know not to trust any man until you get to know him more.

Personality

Alexandra is a very strong willed woman but she also has a very bad temper. During her Academy years, they nicknamed her "Scarlet" because of her red hair and the temper she had to go along with it. She believes in the Betazoid Gods and prays to them everyday. She has a picture of her husband Edward Mahon, taken during their short marriage to each other, Alexandra misses him very much and hopes to fall in love again one day but duty comes first. She speaks English, Betazoid, Romulan, Bajorian and even Ancient Betazoid. Alexandra will still need to see a Counselor about what happened to her on the USS Rome, somebody she can trust which is mostly women.

She also loves children; Alexandra has about five godchildren by her friends who are mostly human, Betazoid, or Bajoran.

Background

Alexandra Elizabeth Faal was born on Risa. August 21, 2354 to Lady Victoria Faal, member of the 3rd house of Betazed, and Lt. Commander William Faal, Second Officer on the USS Knight. After Alexandra's birth she lived on Betazed with her mother while her father went on other missions for Starfleet.

In 2369 Alexandra was put in a private school where she was an excellent student in both Science and History. Within the first year Alexandra met her first rival, a cousin from her mother's side of the family named Isis Williamson. Isis's mother was the head woman of the 3rd house of Betazed but Alexandra was hoping for a better relationship with her cousin. During private school she developed a taste for horseback riding. Her first horse was Midnight; also acting, singing, painting, writing stories and poems, modeling, children, meeting new people, and sword fighting.

In 2371, Alexandra joined Starfleet where the young girl majored in Counseling and minored in Science and History. The young Betazoid also got involved in acting where Alexandra won many awards including her role as Queen Elizabeth I in the play called the "The Virgin Queen" where she won for Best Actress Award in 2372, and also won another Best Actress Award in 2373 as her role as the hardheaded, strong-willed, Southern Belle Scarlet O'Hara in "Gone With The Wind". She also played in the 24th century versions of "Buffy, The Vampire Slayer", and "Charmed". She never dated much because her studies were very important even though Alexandra had many admirers from both men and women cadets at the Academy. At the Academy's parties and dances Alexandra Elizabeth Faal was the best dressed woman in the room, the high ranking officers including the President of UFP thought that the young Betazoid woman was beautiful, graceful, a bit of a mystery, but also had a temper to match her red hair.

In 2377, Alexandra graduated in the top of her class and was posted on the USS Lexington a week later. This is where she met the love of her life Commander Edward Mahon who was the Executive Officer of the USS Lexington. He was born and raised in London, England who was so very brave and handsome. Edward and Alexandra fell in love and on September 4, 2377 they were married during a shore leave in England.

Three months later during an attack by an unknown race, Edward along with almost half of the crew died leaving Alexandra heartbroken and pregnant with twins. Sadly, a few months later she have a very bad miscarriage which left Alexandra even more depressed. During that time she was hoping to get together with her cousin Isis hoping to get past their differences and formulate a friendship with her cousin/rival but Isis, who was a 4th year cadet at the time, would not give her the time of day. Alexandra vowed that one day she will be close friends with her cousin.

Alexandra stayed on the USS Lexington until 2380 where she was put on the USS Rome as the Senior Counselor. On February 12, 2381 the USS Rome was attacked and was taken over by space pirates led by a young Englishman from Earth named Victor York. They killed the Captain and put the rest of the crew in the brig and shuttlebays well guarded. However, York didn't want Alexandra and her XO Commander Edward Macfarland to be put in the brig, he wanted them for questioning.

Despite the young pirate's obvious attraction towards the Betazoid, Alexandra responded with nothing but revulsion that he would even think of such a thing. As York left he vowed to come back and get her before he got done with the rest of the crew. Alexandra's response was one of obstinacies; the fact that her survival could depend upon cooperation did not concern her in the least.

Beaten and questioned, Macfarland did not provide York with any answers. In a fit of frustration he order the ship to be destroyed along with the crew itself. A small handful of lower ranked crew members including Alexandra went though the Jeffries tubes. An Engineering Ensign with the help of the Second Officer a young Bajorian security officer, Diana Ti, released sleeping gas into the ventilation system. The pirates had been dispatched but not before the pirate York left a red rose by Alexandra's office door.

After that Alexandria was praised by Admiral Paris and Commander MacFarland for her quick thinking and resourcefulness. The rest of the team also received Commendations for Bravery but Alexandria was the one who received a written letter from the Captain.

A year later she met and fell in love with Commander Steven Williamson, their new human CO, but sad she came to find out that he was merely using her for his own personal games and pleasure. Heartbroken Alexandra tried to kill herself with a Betazoid knife by cutting her neck, she was saved and placed under counseling by her boss Commander V'Pal who was very worried about her old friend... something that wasn't Vulcan-like.

She stayed on the USS Rome after Commander Williamson was transfer off the ship by Admiral Paris until she was order to transfer to Starbase 901 as a Senior Counselor in 2384, working under a Lieutenant Commander Karissa Bentara. As well as being her superior officer, Karissa was also both her counselor and her friend. When Starbase 901 was temporarily decommissioned in mid 2386, Faal returned to Earth and Starfleet Medical, where she lectured in advanced counseling techniques for six month.

Although she enjoyed being back on Earth and teaching others, she found as the weeks passed by that she missed space and so when she learnt that there was a position as Chief Counselor for the Lake Town Starfleet Field office on Serenity, she requested a transfer. She returned to the New Canada system in January 2387, with a promotion to Full Lieutenant. On her return to the New Canada system, she met fellow passengers Logan McQueen and his daughter Bridie. During the five day trip back, the three spent many hours talking. It wasn't until they arrived on Serenity that Alexandra discovered that he was infact the Chief of Security for the Lake Town field office.
