Light burn marks on her back from when she was an infant and trapped in a fire. They can still be felt. She’s also empathic and telepathic and has incredible agility, strength, hearing and sight. Her abilities are a lot like a cat’s.

Personality

She's very easy going and gets along with most people. Has a smile most times and usually a pretty good attitude. She's genuinely a happy person. Has had very little in her life to temper that attitude. But she is also a woman of great inner and outer strength. She knows this. When times call for it, she can be very serious. She also battles her own demons from time to time.

Background

Rahel was rescued from a fire on the planet of Kritarus with another infant. However, there was no record of her birth, and the house that she was rescued from belonged to a research scientist who was killed in the fire. His name was Dr. Helorian Drakara. He had no wife and usually spent most of his time in his lab. There was no cause identified for the fire. Only that it could have been accidental, starting in the lab.

When Rahel was rescued and treated for smoke inhalation and burns, they ran a DNA scan on her only to find it a very confusing mess. She had Terran, feline and unknown DNA. However, since she was an infant and was around six months old, she was placed in the care, and eventually adopted by a family on Kritarus. The family was Dr. Rahaj Kahfre, his wife Dr. Analla Kahfre and their seven year old son Ashraf. Rahaj was an archaeologist and Analla was a medical doctor. They were a mix of human/Betazoid/Tanzaran ancestry. They loved her, including her new brother, and she grew up very happy and well adjusted, though for many years she had nightmares of fire and pain. As a child she also had an unusual fear of labs and medical centers though in time she outgrew it. The scars on her back from the fire, though light and just cover a portion of her back, are still there.

When she was still very young it was discovered that she was empathic, followed by telepathic. She has incredible athletic abilities and can jump very far and she always seems to land on her feet. She excelled in school and to meet her potential the teachers had to give her more difficult work. When she was fourteen, she graduated required schooling and decided Starfleet was where she wanted to be. At fifteen she entered the academy and excelled in a wide range of areas. Many of her instructors pushed her to go into Security, but like her 'mother' she was drawn toward medicine and science. After the Academy, she went to Starfleet Medical School and graduated with High Honors. After a residency at Starfleet Medical, her first assignment was on the USS Baltimore in the Gamma Quadrant. In an unfortunate incident, trying to cover the USS Toussaint L'Ouverture, they were attacked by a race called the Proktolans. Though this had been expected, it still took its toll. Several people were killed including most of the science and medical staff. Rahel, who had only been a Lieutenant (Junior Grade), was given a field promotion straight to Lieutenant. She was also handling both Medical and Science until they could get back to the Alpha Quadrant and get help. Upon her return, she was transferred to Starbase 638. She stayed there quietly for a year as Chief Medical Officer, but did long to get back out among the stars. Her misadventure had not soured her on the idea of being on a Starship. She was then transferred to the USS Taurus with much excitement on her part.

The USS Taurus was destroyed in early 2385 and most of the crew were transferred to the USS Leviathan-B. During her time onboard the Leviathan-B, Rahel started a relationship with the Chief of Security Logan McQueen.

The USS Leviathan-B was destroyed during a battle with the Karled, a race from the far side of the DMZ between Federation and Mulluran space.

After taking a six month leave of absence, both Logan and Rahel returned to Starfleet, but were assigned to different vessels, keeping them apart.

Unable to remain apart, both applied to be transferred to a location where they could be together. Rahel was offered a position as Chief Medical Officer for the Starfleet office at Lake Town Serenity, along with a promotion to Lieutenant Commander. Logan was offered the position of Chief of Security at Lake Town and both arrived in late October 2386.
