Background

Keung Lee was born on Earth in London, England in 1957 as the third child of Ken and Lily who were owners of two Chinese restaurants in London. The children helped out in the restaurants after school and during the summer vacations. After school, Keung Lee went on to London University to study a degree in History and Economics. There was an expectation, that after graduation, Keung would take over the family business. This he did and the following years was a period of prosperity as the business expanded with restaurants throughout the South East of England.

However his time wasn't devoted to his business. During his time at university, he had enlisted in the army territorial force. Britain's part-time soldiers. In the six years of being a business owner, Keung held the rank of sergeant-major in the army's special forces regiment, the SAS. He also had another interest and that was as a child in 1969 with many millions of other people, he watched the first moon landings. As a result, he became interested in anything to do with space travel and astronomy.

In 1982, the Argentineans invaded the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic. Keung was called up during the Falklands War where he served with distinction operating with the special forces. This experience changed his career direction and after the war was over, he became a regular handing over the reins of his business to his brother and sister.

Over the subsequent years, he served in a variety of operations including places such as Northern Ireland and the Middle East which brought with it a rapid rise in promotion. In 1995, he was asked to form a specialized counter-terrorist unit and was promoted to Major to lead the unit. Many successful operations were conducted by this unit much of it classified.

In 2005, he and his team were selected fly as passengers in a new space orbital shuttle. The idea was to test the capacity of the shuttle in flying to areas of operations where most needed. It was whilst orbiting the earth a malfunction occurred in the shuttle's systems and as a result sent the ship off into deep space. The authorities declared the ship lost. The malfunction created a toxic atmosphere in the cabin where Keung Lee and his team fell into a coma. The orbital continued on its way into deep space for many centuries until 2264 when it was found by a Federation starship. The orbital craft was taken back to Earth and the medical authorities tried to revive the crew. Only three men revived, one of them being Keung Lee A debriefing resulted obviously affected all three men... but it was Lee who was able to cope with the dramatic changes of waking up in the future. His two colleagues attempted to adapt but one day, one man disappeared from his quarters and the other was found hanged. As for Lee, life had to go on and the only jobs that Lee knew was catering and the military. Catering didn't appeal to him and he was an experienced military man.

He was also keen exploiting his interest in space exploration and it was suggested that he joined Star Fleet Academy. After graduation, Lee was appointed to the Eagle as a security officer where he rapidly gained promotion as Lt Keung Lee, Chief of Security. Another dramatic change came six years later when engaging on a special operations mission, the shuttlepod containing Lee and his team encountered the gravitation pull of a wormhole! The experience of travelling through a effects of the wormhole was too much for the shuttlepod. The ship re-appeared into normal space only to discover the shuttlepod had travelled through time...100 years later. The journey through the wormhole had a devastating effect on the shuttlepod systems and the structure of the ship. Radiation posioning mixed with toxic gasses rendered the crew unconscious. The last thing Lee could recall before slipping into unconsciousness was yelling "Not again!"

The damaged shuttlepod was discovered by a Federation freighter who using a tractor beam pulled the little ship into the cargo hold. The only survivors being Lee and his lover, Alicia Devries whose recovery took place in the Medical centre at SB901.

It was on SB901 that Lee and Alicia was bought to the attention of Starfleet Director of Operations. For sometime Starfleet had been considering the setting up of a specialist special forces unit in the sector to deal with terrorism and elements that threaten to undermine the security of the Federation. Upon discovering that Lee had considerable experience in such activities, he was approached to set up a special operations unit. For ten years under the command of Lee workalongside Communications specialist Alicia Deviries, they distinguished themselves in a number of classified black operations. It came as a surprise to Starfleet personnel, that Lee and Dviries announced they were resigning from Starfleet explaining they were seeking a fresh direction in their careers, mainly in civilian life. Upon resignation from Starfleet, the couple married and embarked on a new career as innkeepers on Serentiy. Although no longer working in Starfleet, the couple have been occasionally been involved in a number of classified jobs at the behest of Starfleet Intelligence.
