Personality
Kaley is dedicated to her job and focused on one day completing medical training to become a doctor. That same single mindedness has allowed her to overcome many things but had also been the cause of pushing herself into a state of too much work at times.
At the moment nothing would make Kaley feel more at ease than to see her husband return. Its something she hopes and prays for every single day.

Background
Betezed was Kaley's home planet for much of her childhood, born on November 7, 2359 to Ethan and Valerie Bryce. She leaned to be independent early. Both of her parents were active duty SF marines. At the time the posting for her mother was a diplomatic one which allowed her to be there when Kaley was young.
Eventually the family had to leave Betazed when her mother was reassigned. Shortly before she turned 18, Kaley decided to enlist as a Starfleet marine. Initially it came as a shock to her parents but they quickly accepted it as soon as they learned she planned to attend the Academy in a couple of years.
After a three year tour of duty as an enlisted marine she went onto Starfleet Academy. Kaley graduated from the marine division then entered Medical school where she was accepted into a program to allow her to specialize in an area that complimented her Physical Therapy expertise.
For the longest time Kaley didn't really worry about her personal life. That quickly changed when she met Dale McKenzie. They married soon after. In 2386 she dropped out of her final year of medical school as a full time student to return to an active duty position. Family pressure had become too much on top of other things. Suddenly learning that her husband was missing while they were expecting their first child didn't help.
Kaley accepted an assignment to Serenity in hopes of getting her life back in order and wants to finish her medical studies someday as well. Everyday she holds out hope that Dale will be found.
