Vain, greedy, rude, untrusting, underhanded, mischievious, doomy, deathy, and spiteful. Did I mention he has angst?
Let's get one thing straight folks - this guy is not the good guy. He is so far from it, it's not even funny. He's a liar, and a cheat. He's greedy, and Starfleet's concept of "no need for money" doesn't matter to him. He's got quite a stash of gold pressed latinum, and collects rare money from different worlds.
He feels no remorse, and his main goal is to become the greatest person in all of existance - or at the very least the greatest Captain. In truth, he only wants to become a Captain to spite his older brother, Kuroi. He wants to be greater than Kuroi, and will stop at nothing to achieve that goal.
He has deep connections within underground crime syndicates, and isn't afraid to disobey an order or two.
If I were anyone else... I'd beware. He may seem like a nice guy and all at first, but if he's being nice to you, it means you have something he wants...
He puts his faith and trust in no one but himself. He learned from experience - Trust no one but yourself, save no one but yourself. While he travels with certain individuals, he, without words, is very clear on who he is in it for - and they like all know that he'd save himself before he'd die for them, or for a cause.
Born in 2348, he is the youngest sibling of a large family. He has 3 older brothers, and one older sister. Being the youngest of a rather large family was always hard, and he usually had to fend for himself.
His older brothers, particularly Seth and Kuroi, tended to be strong willed, and overbearing. Sarah sheltered V. a lot, but sometimes even she wasn't. And Kujo was the brash one of all, and was always out on his own. More often than not, Kujo would come home in trouble for one thing or another.
When thier parents perished, V. was a very young boy. The Admiral that took them in was a Vulcan, and his elder brothers and his sister did everything they could to get away from him. All except Kuroi.
Kuroi studied long and hard with Admiral Sanyak, learning everything he could. He wanted to become a stronger person when he was older, and more able to take on greater responsabilities.
Seth...the eldest brother, along with Kujo, rebelled against Sanyak, seeking out thier own destiny.
Sarah was indifferent about the whole situation, bottling herself up in her own world after her parents death. She fell into a deep depression, finding the only thing to make her smile was V.
V. himself could only turn to himself for protection. His older brothers tended to ignore him, and with Sarah falling into her own world, more and more she left him alone, opting to seek her own life. At the age of 7, he learned how to live alone...with himself.
As he grew, he learned to lie with the perfection of a Vulcan. He became the master of his emotions, but instead of pushing them away, or hiding them, he embraced them, and used them to his own ends.
When Kuroi and Sarah both went away to join the Federation, V. was truly alone. The year before, both Kujo and Seth had also left, going on thier own paths.
V. had at first decided to find his own path, and perhaps become a diplomat. He had the knack for it, but a discussion with Admiral Sanyak changed his mind, and caused him to suddenly join Starfleet.
Now, he is in pursuit of surpassing his elder brother, Kuroi, and becoming the better Captain of the two.
In 2365 V. entered the Academy. He had the recommendation from Admiral Sanyak, and the Academy was more than happy to welcome a third Neko into Starfleet. This Neko was different than the last two though. He was dishonest, where they had been nothing but honest.
In 2369 he graduated from the Academy, and was assigned to the USS Tarawa as a Security Officer. He did well onboard the ship, but didn't make many friends. Each ship he went to after that was much the same. He would make a fine officer, but would keep to himself, and not make many friends. He liked it that way.
During his career, he found time to meet a woman, named Sarah Light. He'd fallen in love with her, but she met an untimely end during a battle. He witnessed her death, but was unable to save her. He hates himself for that, and has a difficult time facing himself in the mirror.
In 2376, as a Lt. Commander, V. nearly had a break in his career. He was made the Acting Executive Officer of the USS Sin-You, and was in the perfect position to take command of the vessel. However, a last minute decision from Starfleet Command, to drydock the ship, dashed his efforts away, and he and the Sin-You parted ways.
After that, he took leave for a period of time. However, he has strangely come back to active duty, and serves at Valhalla Colony.
After serving on Valhalla Colony for a period of time, he decided to quit Starfleet. He left with Amaryllis Mone, and has never looked back.
