Richard came from a strong and strict house hold, on earth in Boston.
His father had informed Richard at the age of 15 that he was going to
follow family tradition. Upon hearing this he looked for an escape.
The escape came in 2361 when Richard enrolled in the Academy. Once there
he did good in athletics, drilling, and tactics. His only downfall was
Engineering.
At the Academy he fell in love for the first time, but it was not just
a fellow cadet, but the Commandant's daughter. In Richard's Junior year
the affair was discovered and she dropped out. Devastated in 2364 he
dropped out as well and enlisted in Starfleet as Petty Officer.
Richard would served his first two years with then Lt.Commander Sisko,
on the Saratoga. The two would become friends. Wallace's first
taste of battle was at Wolf 359. After the order to abandon ship was
given, and after sustaining a shoulder wound. Petty Officer Wallace
helped four badly injured crewmates to a shuttle pod. For this he was
awarded a Commendation, and promotion to Chief. Richard would served
for the next 7 years as a Security officer on Deep Space 4. On this
assignment he learned a lot on how stations run.
The year was 2373 and the Dominion War gave Richard the edge he needed.
He was assigned on the USS Justifiable as 2nd tactical officer.
During the retaking of DS9 Wallace was credited with helping destroy
3 Galor class warships, and 4 Jem'Hadar crusiers. In 2374 Senior Chief
Wallace was assigned to a Special Landing force where his actions are
sealed by Starfleet Command. After the war Richard was assigned to the
Academy to help train cadets.
In 2382 he was given a commission as Ensign and assigned as Tatical
officer onboard the USS Ilion. After 4 months into the Ilion's
first and last mission, Ensign Wallace was captured along with 5 other
crewmated by Kelvans. An anomaly brought the captured Ilion crew
to the Gamma Quadrant, where they were saved by the USS Virgo.
On the Virgo Richard was promoted to Lt.JG and Chief Tactical
officer. Then promoted to full Lieutenant for actions classified by
Star Fleet command.
In late 2383 Wallace took a four month journey to get back to the Alpha
Quadrent on a transwarp shuttle. He was suposed to be a part of the
staff of Command, when Commander Gavin Jeffreys requested Wallace as
an Operations officer. Supply Base 901 became Richard's first assignment
as a command level officer. Upon the disaperance of Commander Jeffreys,
Admrial McCaffee gave Lt.Commander Wallace a chance he wouldn't of ever
had before. To command a Space Station.
In 2384 Captain Richard Wallace initialized first known contact with
species G'kra, a once oppressed race. Later that year he help assure
the G'kra admission into the Federation.
Richard Wallace, has served in more combat then any Admiral currently
serving in Command. He hardly speaks of his days carrying a phaser rifle,
but he looks back on it very often to answer questions, which he already
knows the answer to. Captain Wallace enjoys his post on Supply Base
901, and feels as if he could stay in service another 20 years.
In September 2384, Commodore Richard Wallace was reassigned to command
the USS Hornet, to explore the area that was captured after the Mulluran
War. Richard was dissappointed in his transfer at first but accepted
it and is now looking forward to a chance to make history, and have
it not be war history.
In mid-2386 after Richard Wallace's success in the Second Briar Patch
Conflict, Rear Admiral Wallace sent to Earth once there he recvied a
hero's welcome. There was talk that he could run for President due to
his triumph. Once there Admiral Ross informed Wallace he was going to
have to retire his Admiral Pips due to the fact that there was no positions
for that rank available. However he was offered Command of any ship
of the fleet with the rank of Captain. Richard believed he had served
his purpose in Command and asked if he could take the Security Position
on the Serenity Colony instead. Command was reluctant but gave him the
assigment and the rank of Commander.
Wallace believes this will be his final tour of duty and is looking
forward to some peace and quiet again after some 20 plus years of fighting
and deep space exploration.
