Toran exited the turbolift heading for his quarters. *I hate these damned dress uniforms,* he thought as he walked through his door. Five minutes later he left his quarters in the newest issue dress uniform. He had almost forgotten to add the third pip to it. There were a few things to be done before he left though. "Toran to Phanan." He said tapping his comm badge. [Go ahead sir] The Marine replied dutifully. "Meet me in the briefing room please." Toran ordered. [On my way Commander] Phanan returned. A few moments later Toran arrived in the security briefing room to find Captain Phanan already waiting for him. "You wanted to see me sir ?" Phanan stated matter of factly. "Yes Captain," Toran replied. "While I'm gone, I'm sure you know that you'll be in charge of security." "Yes Commander." Phanan replied, "I'm aware of that." Phanan asked. *Good* Toran thought, *He wants to know what to look for, this guy's not stupid.* "Captain," Toran began evenly, "I have reason to believe that she is not who she appears to be. "I understand." The Captain replied. "I appreciate that," Toran returned, "Now, just one other thing, you are aware that I have four shadows on her. Keep them there for me. Also, I'm sure you are aware of the location of the evidence I took for this investigation. Hide it somewhere that only you know." "Aye sir." Phanan returned dutifully. "Thank you Captain," Toran said, "I'll leave you to your duties." Both men left the conference room. Toran had one other thing to do before they left. Returning to his quarters, he picked up an isolinear chip. Something he had to keep with him in case something happened Setting off for the transporter room, Toran was ready for what awaited them or at least he hoped... |
