Violations

Opening here eyes,Sierra felt as if her body had been slammed into a brick wall. Where was she ?? Then remembering her last memories, she sat up.

The gunmetal gray of the bulkheads now was in complete view, Lieutenant Devore sat in the Brig and looked around puzzledly. She was confused. Her last memories were with her husband on the Bridge of the Lynx but now she was all alone. Captain Devore was nowhere to be seen. She then remembered and gasped, *But why ??*

Captain Lighter walked in on the far side of the forcefield that separated Sierra from the rest of the room. "Well, I see that Lieutenant Devore is awake." He said with a sinister, even sarcastic smile.

"What is going on ?" Asked Lieutenant Devore darting up from the bed.

"You and your husband are being held separated until we reach Federation Headquarters. At that point, your husband will be arrested and tried. I'm not sure what they are going to do with you." Said Captain Lighter, his eyes travelling up and down Sierra's body making her feel somewhat uncomfortable.

"Excuse me, Captain ?" Questioned the Lieutenant feeling invaded by the unwelcome stares. "What do you mean, 'going to do with me' ? My husband and I will return to our ship."

"Lieutenant, your husband is going to prison for being a traitor and if you don't go as well for conspiracy, then you are going to need a new ship and a new Captain." He smiled again making her feel uncomfortable. Lighter signalled his security chief to lower the forcefield. As the field came down, he entered the cell and sternly ordered the chief away. Finally his attention returned to Devore who now was sitting on the bed. Lighter sat down next to her. "I can accommodate." He said as he reached out and grabbed her knee.

Pushing his hand away from her knee, she immediately slapped his face, and angrily yelled, "Captain Lighter ! Keep your hands off me! If you weren't. . ."

"What Lieutenant Devore... or can I say, Sierra ?" Said Lighter.

"No, it's Lieutenant Devore to you." Stated Sierra. *If he touches me again, so help me !*

"Tell me, Lieutenant Devore..." He said sarcastically."....why are you married to a traitor ?"

"He is no traitor. What are the other ridiculous charges ?"

"They aren't ridiculous. You will know more when we get to Headquarters and to Admiral Leary." He said.

"Admiral Leary ??" Asked Lieutenant Devore in amazement. "He is dead ! There is no way he could be at Headquarters !"

"Lieutenant Devore. Don't play stupid with me !" Lighter says, now starting to get annoyed.

"Who is playing stupid ? I have asked you a simple question." Lieutenant Devore states. "If my husband is being charged with a crime and I am being charged also, then you may want to know who is actually doing the accusing."

"Traitor is the only crime I will tell you." He said.

"My husband and I are not traitors !" Sierra says becoming frustration. "You have been lied to."

"I have not been lied to." Lighter said"Has anyone ever told you that you look beautiful when you are angry ?"

"Captain, I will have no more of your comments or your actions !" Sierra expresses firmly.

"Oh, Lieutenant ? What are you going to do ?" He said in a cocky manner.

"You're a fool, if you fell for this crock ! Of course they would have to get someone as stupid as you to believe it"

Captain Lighter starts to get angry. He doesn't like to be called a fool. "I am no fool, Mrs. Devore."

"Obviously, you are." Devore says smartly. "'They' have you believing my husband is a traitor. He is faithful to the Federation, as am I."

Lighter is now really angry. He gets up to leave, but is stopped by Sierra.

"Wait! I remember your face. You are Commander Lighter of the USS Lucado. If I remember correctly you killed someone in cold-blood. How did you get out ? Aw, let me see. . .'they' contacted you and threatened to send you to another prison, if you didn't take this 'job'. Is this correct ?"

Lighter said nothing.

"You're a fool. They have nothing on my husband and you will go back to prison. You'll see." Lieutenant Devore said arrogantly.

Now standing face to face with Sierra, "I am no fool, Lieutenant Devore. I will do my job assigned to me. They have the evidence."

"They have nothing and your arrogance is going to be your downfall." Sierra said. "And you want to know something you fool, there will not be anyone to cat........" .

Before she could even finish her sentence, Lighter brutally hit her face. The impact of the heinous act forced Sierra to her knees with blood pouring from her mouth. Then as if to add insult to injury he devilishly smiled over the injured woman and said, "I will prove you wrong. I will prove you all wrong!"

*No Captain, you will be proved wrong.* Sierra thought as she glared at Lighter with eyes full of hatred.
